SOUTHGATE, Ky. — Bryan Thomas Naumes, 41, went to be with his Lord on Aug. 3, 2015 at his residence in Southgate, Kentucky. He passed away suddenly from congestive heart failure. Bryan was born on Dec. 1, 1973 in Traverse City, the beloved son of Tom and Barbara (Glenny) Naumes, of Bellaire.

Bryan attended Living God Christian School, where his mother was a teacher. After graduating from Traverse City Senior High School in 1993, Bryan attended Christ for the Nations Institute, where he studied music ministry and sound audio production. He went on to serve many churches and ministries in both areas of study. He also provided wonderful sound in numerous secular venues including political rallies, off Broadway plays, cruise ships, festivals and music concerts, literally from coast to coast. He graced many churches and all family celebrations with his beautiful voice and technical expertise. He loved what he did and had a God given talent.

Bryan began, as soon as he could crawl, to love lights and electricity in any form. His parents found it hard to keep him away from outlets. Very early on he found a way to remove the baby protectors and nothing could keep him away for long! In the fifth grade, this self-taught guy worked the foot peddle lights behind the scenes at his first theatrical production. When the family moved to Traverse City in 1986 Bryan began his long run of lighting and sound “magic” at Church of the Living God. Everything he did was usually just right, but many remember the smoke machine that went awry during the Easter production!

Bryan participated in four Mexico missions trips with the youth group at CLG. He loved helping the less fortunate and spreading the gospel message. In later years his job took him all over the country and to Israel. His awesome photographs of the various places he traveled are inspirational.

Bryan had a kind heart and was generous, almost to a fault! He gave of himself and loved to give gifts. His, at times, abrupt manner was a product of his intense drive and focus to do a job with excellence and to fulfill the call of God on his life.

Survivors include his parents, Tom and Barbara Naumes, of Bellaire; his brother, Scott (Darcy) Naumes, of Bellaire; his sister, Bethany (Jason) Smith, of Traverse City; his beloved niece and nephew, Clara and Dylan Smith; along with many aunts and uncles, half siblings and cousins.

He was loved and will be greatly missed by his family and the many friends he made all over the world. The great outpouring of love and prayers has truly been a comfort to his family.

Please join us in celebrating Bryan’s life at Church of the Living God, 1514 Birmley Road, Traverse City, on Sept. 12, at 10:30 a.m.
